Head teacher’s Message
Welcome to our lovely school. We want you to be proud of it. First, and foremost, we are a Catholic school. Christ is placed lovingly at the centre of our day. Guided by The Holy Spirit, we encourage our people to ‘Shine like a lantern, in the presence of the Lord.’ We invest heavily in the training of our staff, whom we believe possess the skills and enthusiasm to meet the needs of our learners: lessons are fun and engaging, with a keen insistence that all children, whatever their starting point, make good progress. At all times, we do our very best to keep moving forward. This phrase was used by Walt Disney when he was asked to describe the attribute that made his organisation so special: he said, ‘Around here, we just keep moving forward’. At St. Bede’s we try our very best to live up to this ideal.
This is my 26th year of being a head teacher. I have been blessed to work alongside wonderful children, colleagues (both teachers and support staff) and parents – never more so than at this school.
We look to work alongside all our families to support the children who are entrusted into our care. Working with children is a privilege: we owe it to them to be positive in all things.
God Bless,
Gary Nott
