Guardian Angels
Our Guardian Angels are chosen from Year 5 and Year 6 to assist the RE Leader in the running of worship within the school. They also support the charity work that happens each year including the ‘Love in a box’ and the Alternative Advent Calendar. They are examples of ‘our light and our hope‘, the words of Pope Francis.
School Council
Two children are from each class are selected at the beginning of the school year to represent their year group within the school council. Once a half term meetings are held, where councilors get to shares their thoughts, opinions and ideas about fundraising ideas and think of ways to better improve daily life in school.
Prefects
Our prefects – here at St Bede’s Catholic Primary School – have a very special role. They are children in our community who continue to shine like lanterns and show positive and inspiring behaviours to the younger children. Our prefects wear their ties and badges with pride. They are always eager to help those around them and take their duties very seriously, knowing that they have responsibilities which help us to continue to support one another here in school.
St Bede’s school community is incredibly proud of our prefects, they are true role models and we are very lucky to have them.
Reading Buddies
At St Bede’s we have a number of reading buddies from Year 6, who read with children in Year 2 every lunch time (from the Spring Term) to help to promote a love of reading and act as reading role models to our younger students. These sessions focus on fluency and accuracy when reading but also help to develop confidence in our older pupils, giving them leadership responsibilities in our school community.
